This is the first printing of the first USA edition of THE SHINING MOUNTAIN -- Two Men On Changabang's West Wall by Peter Boardman and Joe Tasker. This book was published in New York by E.P. Dutton in 1984. The book measures 36mm tall x 155mm, and has 194 pages, 26 b/w photos, route drawing, glossary, index. This book received the Llewelyn Rhys Memorial Prize, a literary award. Boardman & Tasker practiced extreme, autonomous, alpine-style Himalayan climbing. This is an account of the climb that many contemporaries felt was impossible.

CONDITION: Original white boards & white cloth spine with silver lettering. Nice dust jacket (no chips, no tears, clean, clipped flap corner). The book is in near fine condition but has a small pinkish smudge mark at the bottom edge of the front cover (see photo), no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, tight binding, no foxing. Price: $25.
