This is the sixth printing of the first USA edition (same format as the first printing), of MINUS 148o: THE WINTER ASCENT OF MT. MCKINLEY by Art Davidson. This book was published in New York by W. W. Norton & Company Inc in 1969. This is nearly identical to the first printing, the only difference being the number line on the copyright page. The book measures 215mm tall x 140mm, and has 218 pages, 32 b/w photos. This is the account of the first winter ascent, a bold & well executed climb, a very gripping story. Realistically beyond hope and thought dead after a fierce storm, several members granted the others a Shackleton-like surprise. One of the best stories of mountaineering in N America.
