This is the third edition of WHERE THE CLOUDS CAN GO by Conrad Kain, same contents as first edition except new prologue by Thorington and new preface by Hans Gmoser. This book measures 235mm tall x 15cm, and has 456 pages, 29 b/w photos on 19 plates, index (with additional chapters by J.M. Thorington). This differs from the first two editions in its original dark navy cloth binding and different dust jacket design. Autobiography of the great guide. Published posthumously (Kain died in 1934). Really, a classic of mountaineering in Canada (250pp). Kain was a guide & great climber. He made around 100 first ascents & new routes in Alps (mostly Dolomites & Gesäuse), NZ, & Canada including Mt Robson, Bugaboo Spire, & Louis.

CONDITION: Original dark navy cloth, small silver gilt dec cover, silver gilt lettering spine. BOOK CONDITION is FINE with no fading, no soiling, tight binding, no foxing, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, clean pages, no crease marks, no rubbing. The original DUST JACKET is in nice condition but has the usual fading of the blue lettering on the spine and a faint bit of very light soiling near the base, no chips, no tears, no rubbing, complete with original price on flap corner.
