This is the first printing of the first edition of EIGERWAND DER TOD KLETTERT MIT by Toni Hiebeler. This book was published in 1963 by Wilhelm Limpert in Frankfurt. The book measures 235mm tall x 16cm, and has 250 pages, 53 pages of b/w photos (5 are foldouts). Text in german, no english edition. Thorough history of climbs with emphasis on accidents. List of all summiters and fatalities to 1963. Dramatic, historical photos, some gruesome (climbing accidents). This has many Eiger climbing photos that are not found in other books.

CONDITION: Original off-white cloth, black lettering front and spine. The book is in fine condition with no foxing, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, clean, tight binding. The dust jacket is in nice condition with some flecking at tips of corners, 2cm tear lower front with crinkle marks. Price: $45.
