This is the 1922 edition of THE MOUNTAINS OF CALIFORNIA by John Muir. This book was published in New York by The Century Company in 1922. The book measures 203mm tall x 136mm, and has 389 pages, 67 b/w photos & illustrations, index. Muir's first book and a classic of the Sierra Nevada literature. The dust jacket with this book is quite uncommon.

CONDITION: Original tan cloth with gilt decoration front cover, black lettering front cover & spine. The book is in near fine condition with very minor soiling bottom edge of front cover, solid binding, no foxing, old gift inscription on free front endpaper dated 1938, no other previous owner marks or writing on any pages. The uncommon original dust jacket has an 8cm tear upper front near spine, several tiny tears, tiny loss 4mm deep lower front. Price: SOLD.
