This is the first printing of the first UK edition of ICE-BOUND HEIGHTS OF THE MUSTAGH AN ACCOUNT OF TWO SEASONS OF PIONEER EXPLORATION AND HIGH CLIMBING IN THE BALTISTAN HIMALAYA by Fanny Bullock and William Hunter Workman. This book was published in London by Constable in 1908. The book measures 243mm tall x 161mm, and has 444 pages, 166 b/w photos & 4 color watercolors, 2 folding maps, index. Exploration of Chogo Lungma Glacier near Haramosh in 1902 with Zurbriggen as guide. Several first ascents were made. They also climbed to about 330m below the summit of Spatnik.

CONDITION: Original green cloth, blue-brown-grey-white-black decoration of mountain scene front cover, TEG, gilt lettering cover & spine. Some fading to spine cloth, old gift inscription on blank FFEP dated 1907 (which means the book was published in 1907 rather than the 1908 printed on the title page), clean covers, solid binding, no foxing. No restorations to book. Nice collectible condition of a book that is becoming hard to find in original, unrestored covers/binding. Price: $800.
